Domain: Why You Need to Buy an Exact Match
Domain names have been a catch-phrase since the dawn of the internet, especially after its powerful potential as a marketing tool was realized. A domain name is, in layman’s terms, a location that you can type into the address section of the worldwide web to locate a website that represents a service, a firm or an individual.
The reason they became significantly important was because once people realized that certain firms, businesses or individuals would be interested in specific domain names, they simply started buying the rights to them and holding on to them, waiting to sell them to the highest bidder.
As irritating and frustrating as this might seem to somebody looking for that perfect and specific name, it was and remains a very legitimate business activity, as well as a lucrative one.
For some companies, especially with regards to the meticulous brand and image-conscious market that today’s marketing enthusiasts favor, nothing is more important than that inch-perfect ideal domain name and they will go to great lengths to get it.
Some companies, just to make sure they have the right name, will even change the company name it’s self, just to fit the domain name that is actually available, that is, if they cannot make the individual or firm with the preferred domain name sell it for a fee!
This meticulousness points to the growing influence of the internet and personal computer in our daily lives. We use the internet to shop, communicate, meet people and socialist as well as run our daily activities from bill payments to consultations on medical and financial issues.
The personal computer has grown smaller and faster and pervaded everyday life. This has of course been made even easier by the interactive nature of today’s media, with television sets, video games, mobile phones and computers all being able to share the same platform: the internet.
It is this that has made the need for the exact domain an all-encompassing one.
